Jian Chen graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology from the Medical College of Soochow University. He obtained his master’s degree in Immunology from Wenzhou Medical University and his Ph.D. in Pathogen Biology from the Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University. In September 2022, he joined the School of Medicine at Westlake University as an Associate Researcher in the CIDR.
Currently, Chen is focused on studying the mechanisms of virus-host immune interactions, discovering antiviral targets, and developing broad-spectrum vaccines. He is dedicated to elucidating the molecular mechanisms of viral pathogenesis and host defense using systems biology and genomics approaches. Chen has led several projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation and has published numerous high-impact academic papers. He is also involved in patent commercialization.
In his free time, he enjoys sports, basketball, and hiking.
