Qinyong Gu earned her Master’s degree from Northeast Agricultural University and her Ph.D. from the University of Giessen in Germany. In 2023, she joined the laboratory of Dr. Sun Ren at Westlake University as an assistant researcher.
In her work, Gu Qinyong is primarily responsible for the following areas:
1. Assisting in the constructing and management of Westlake University’s Biosafety Level 3 laboratory (BSL-3) and Biosafety Level 2 plus laboratory (BSL-2+).
2. Support laboratory members with tasks related to experimental animals, including conducting animal experiments and facilitating interdepartmental communication and coordination.
3. During the initial phase of the CIDR Animal Center establishment, she was responsible for coordinating the utilization requirements across CIDR and conducting research on the necessary instrumentation and equipment.
In her personal life, Qinyong is passionate about outdoor activities such as running and hiking. She actively participates in marathon races, constantly challenging herself and striving for excellence.
